For porcelain and ceramic tile, evaluate edge quality, tile hardness, blade thickness, rim design, machine stability and cooling. A clean printed label alone cannot guarantee chip-free cutting.
Porcelain is not the same as ordinary ceramic tile
Porcelain is usually denser and harder than standard ceramic tile. Glazed surfaces, vitrified bodies and large-format sintered materials can react differently to the same blade. The buyer should identify the exact tile type before confirming a product.
Choose the rim according to the required finish
Continuous rims are commonly associated with controlled edges. Ultra-thin turbo rims can provide a balance of speed and finish. Segmented tile blades may be considered where cooling and discharge are more important, but they require careful validation for edge quality.
Check the machine before blaming the blade
Spindle run-out, worn flanges, incorrect bore fit, unstable tables and excessive feed pressure can all create chipping. The blade may be correctly formulated but still perform poorly on a machine with excessive vibration.

For a private-label project, send actual tile samples or clear cutting videos when possible. The supplier can then compare several structures or bond directions rather than guessing from a generic product name.

Why does a tile blade chip the edge?
Common causes include unsuitable rim structure, excessive blade thickness, spindle run-out, unstable feed pressure, hard glaze and insufficient cooling.
Is a thinner blade always better?
A thinner kerf can reduce cutting resistance, but an excessively thin core may be less stable on an unsuitable machine.
Should porcelain be cut wet?
Wet cutting can improve cooling and dust control, but the machine and jobsite must support it. Some handheld applications require a validated dry-cutting product.
