A procurement checklist for distributors and importers comparing diamond blade suppliers by application matching, sample control, specification clarity, OEM workflow, packaging and pre-shipment evidence.
Start by making the quotations comparable
Two quotations are not directly comparable when the blade construction, rim or segment height, packaging, printing, inspection method or payment term is different. Before ranking suppliers by unit price, lock the application and the commercial scope.
1. Can the supplier explain the application match?
A useful supplier should ask what is being cut, the machine, diameter, bore, dry or wet method and the target balance of speed, edge quality and life. A price sent without these basics may only describe a generic product.
2. Is the sample controlled?
Record the sample model, dimensions, artwork version and test condition. When a sample is approved, the bulk order should reference the approved specification rather than a vague product photo.
3. Are product and artwork approvals separated?
For private-label orders, technical approval and visual approval should be separate checkpoints. Confirm the blade first; then confirm logo, UV face, labels, individual packaging, cartons and shipping marks.
4. What evidence is available before shipment?
Depending on the order, evidence may include representative dimensions, product identity, packaging, carton marks, quantity and shipment readiness. The exact acceptance method should be agreed before production.
5. What should an importer record?
- Supplier and product code
- Material and machine
- Diameter, bore and working structure
- Sample result and approval date
- MOQ and sample policy
- Confirmed lead time for the exact order
- Artwork and packaging revision
- Price term and logistics scope
Final comparison
The lowest unit price is useful only after the technical and commercial scopes are aligned. A slightly higher quotation can be cheaper overall if it reduces mismatched inventory, repeated samples, packaging changes or quality disputes.
